Posted by italco on July 24, 2011

They sent my Census form back! AGAIN!!! In response to the question: “Do you have any dependents?” I replied – “12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads; 8.5 million unemployed people, 7 million in prisons; millions in every state collecting welfare and/or food stamps with no intentions of ever working;  535 Useless people in the U.S. House and Senate. and all of my wealthy dependents on Wall Street….Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer!! ~ Paula Wilstead Clark & Vikki Barnett (Wall Street added by me)

Our Immigration Issues, who’s fault is it?

Posted by italco on October 28, 2010

When the industrial revolution first came to America, our Corporations went to Africa and brought their labor force to America through slavery. We forced them to come to America.

When slavery was abolished, corporations turned to (legal) immigrants coming here from other countries (give us your poor) for general labor. We asked them to come to America!

When unions stood up for the rights of the workers, Corporations turned to Undocumented workers for general labor. We ignored our laws and encouraged them to come.

Now that American Corporations can farm out their labor to other countries like China, Americans are left sitting here with limited labor jobs and an influx of undocumented workers. Disposable labor force?

Corporate America created this problem due to their need for profit, damn the rest of us!!

Home Town 9/11 Tribute!!

Posted by italco on September 13, 2010

The C.E.U Prehistoric Museum paid a special tribute to 9/11. Located in Carbon County Utah, Director Kathy Smith and her team put together an event to honor the lives lost and the sacrifices made for our country.

“Dinosaurs, Ice Age & Archaeology

One of 5 accredited museum’s in the state of Utah and the ONLY accredited museum located off the Wasatch Front. Compared favorably to some of the largest museums in the country!” http://www.facebook.com/CEU.Prehistoric.Museum

I was in my home town to attend my 30 year class reunion…Class of 1980…The absolutely best group of people I have ever known. I always love coming home.

I was driving down main street of Price, Utah and saw this gathering in front of the CEU Prehistoric Museum and being a home town boy, I decided to stop and take in the event. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries from one of the vendors and listened to a very wonderful band. I shook hands and got hugs from long-lost friends and renewed some old memories.

As for the happenings of the reunion, some things we should just keep to ourselves. I just appreciate them putting up with me….lol.

I salute you Kathy and Team…job well done.

Reducing America’s Carbon Footprint?

Posted by italco on September 10, 2010

“The Pentagon says it will design energy-efficient weapons systems — and the Navy will build a carrier strike group of nuclear ships powered by biofuel.

The Army Corps of Engineers is putting in solar panels on nine dams in California.

The greening of government will include agencies as diverse as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Archives and Records Administration. Their energy-saving ideas include installing solar panels, recycling, using less water, telework, reducing fleets of government cars and trucks or committing to use carbon-free, alternative fuel in those vehicles.

These are some of the strategies that 56 government agencies will use to reduce the federal carbon footprint in the next decade to reach President Obama’s goal of a 28 percent emissions reduction.

We are very proud of our government agencies stepping up to the challenge and leading the way for private buildings owners to follow. We must watch carefully and make certain that corruption is not a part of our energy improvements.

This is where American jobs will can be created in manufacturing, construction, repair, and maintenance. Let’s get to work!

Sam Granato for US Senator?

Posted by italco on August 16, 2010

I was able to catch up with Utah Democrat Senate Candidate, Sam Granato at the Centro Civico Mexicano in Salt lake City. Leaning against the back wall of the autotorium, I asked Sam 3 basic questions…

1) Where do you stand on Immigration reform?

Sam told me he has had the pleasure of working directly with the hispanic community here in utah and supports their efforts towards finding a viable solution to the issue. He does not agree 100% with the Whitehouse approach to throw $600 million at the problem and expect more  “policing”  to work. He is willing to work within both parties Dem/Rep as a moderate thinker to develope solutions that take into consideration the concerns of the undocumented immigrant as well as the citizen of Utah who send him to washington to represent their concerns. He is for working towards a comprehensive reform package that “does not” include putting undocumeted immigrants in box cars and shipping them back to their perspective countries.

2) His thoughts on Ethics in Washington?

He looked me in the eye and said…”it’s broken and needs to be fixed”. Greed is the root of corruption and just like in business, ethics have to practiced in order to bring credibity to the office. Ethics isn’t something we just talk about, it is a life style. He assured me that he has always followed ethical business practices throughout his business life and would “not” be swayed by the $ of corporate lobbyists. He will represent Utah citizens, not industry.

He did clarify that industry is needed to create jobs but not at the expense of the environment or un-ethical business practices. We just need to eliminate the conflict of interest when governing WallStreet.

3) How he was going to bridge the divide between the liberals and conservative so Washington can start working together to get things done?

He told me it is not his intent to go to Washington and be a “yes man” to President Obama. His intent is to represent the voices of his constituents and the United States Of America. To best serve his country, it is his duty to work with the republicans as well as the democrates so that all voices are heard and considered. He reiterated that his moderate views affords him the ability to see both sides of the issue and make rational decisions that best serve America and Utah.

After conducting this interview I came to the conclusion that Sam Granato is the best choice for Utah.

Sam Granato represents my beliefs in how politics should be conducted. With thoughfullness, integrity, ethics, and good common sense politics.

I proudly endorse Sam Granato for US Senator

Coffee Party vs Tea Party Debate?

Posted by italco on July 26, 2010

Annabel Park of the Coffee Party is challenging Sarah Palin of the Tea Party to a debate! Proceeds to benefit victims in the Gulf!! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=106031572784669&ref=mf

“Roger Ebert thinks Annabel Park of the Coffee Party “should be “in conversation w/ Sarah Palin.”

Annabel Park says “Actually, I’d like to debate her. The debate can be a fundraiser for the victims of the Gulf Oil Spill and 99ers (unemployed for over 99 weeks, not covered by the benefit extension). What do you say, Sarah?””
