VP Cheney Wrong?….NO!!!

Posted by italco on May 30, 2009

Just Another Lie

I will go on record to say that I do not believe that former VP Cheney is an evil man. I do not believe in the conspiracy theory that he and the past administration staged the 911 attacks in order to further there war agenda.

I do believe we were lied to about Iraq, I do believe the no bid contracts were handed out to help his friends at Haliburton, and I do beleive the past administration put this country at risk when they by-passed the Geneva Convention laws on tourture.

This being said, why does former VP Cheney find it necessary to defend their wrongful acts. Why does he Lie? Why did he lie in the past? President Obama isn’t attempting to bring up charges against anyone…leave it alone and go away.

This is my note to former VP Cheney;

Sir, you lost credibility over the Iraq war and the weapons of mass destruction. You lost credibility over the no bid contracts. You lost credibility when you messed up the Katrina disaster. You lost credibility when you decided you were above the Geneva Convention…please Sir, you have caused enough damage.  Please retire and go away. You and the the rest of the “hate” squad are destroying the republican party. Put your country first for once. Follow in the footsteps of President Bush and retire! Please !

“Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, says former Vice President Dick Cheney’s claims — that classified CIA memos show enhanced interrogation techniques like waterboarding worked — are wrong.

Former VP Dick Cheney has been a vocal defender of Bush-era interrogation techniques.

Levin, speaking at the Foreign Policy Association’s annual dinner in New York on Wednesday, said an investigation by his committee into detainee abuse charges over the use of the techniques — now deemed torture by the Obama administration — “gives the lie to Mr. Cheney’s claims.”

A million dollar bounty on Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Blair

A bounty on their heads! One million dollars was offered on May 30 at 2:58 pm PST by Dr Jurgen Todenhofer, former member of the German parliament, former judge and honorary Colonel of the US Army, to the one:

who brings George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Tony Blair in a fair and legal procedure before an American or an international court on the grounds:

of the wounding and killing of thousands of American GIs and

of the torture, dismemberment and killing of hundreds of thousands innocent Iraqi civilians.

As the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal stated: “To initiate a war of aggression is not only an international crime, it is the supreme international crime – differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within it the accumulated evil of all crimes of war.” The chief U.S. prosecutor Robert H. Jackson said: “We must never forget that the record on which we judge these defendants today constitutes the record on which history will judge us tomorrow.” Or as the famous British writer and actor Peter Ustinov once noted: “Wars are the terrorism of the rich.”

A true democrat and a firm believer in the rule of law cannot hang the little thieves and let the great ones escape.

Todenhofer made the offer in post # 47 in response to a question about how he managed to cope with the human tragedy he witnessed while interviewing people for his book about the Iraqi resistance, Why Do You Kill? The website for the book (which is called “Why Do You Kill, Zaid?” in Germany) is here.

In a later post in the FDL salon, Todenhofer urged people to buy three copies—“one for you, one for your best friend, and one for your senator. Those people who have read this book can no longer vote for war.” He donates all the royalties to injured Iraqi children and to an Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation project in Jerusalem.

Among the Ten Theses that form the epilogue of the book, is this one:

    10. What is needed now is the art of statesmanship, not the art of war – in the Iran conflict, in the Iraq conflict and in the Palestine conflict.

In his elaboration of that point, Todenhofer says that a solution to the Iraq conflict “will only be found if the United States negotiates – as it did in the Vietnam War – with the leaders of the resistance, though of course not with Al-Qaeda. The leaders of the patriotic and moderate Islamist resistance are almost all prepared to take part in such talks.”

interesting artical you posted here my friend. Your presence has been missed. Hope all is well in your world.

If I were them I wouldn’t go out in public…lol. I doubt anyone would honor any such reward, but am glad it is for holding them accountable in court. The problem with this is, only a sitting judge could offer a warrant and only the United States Attorney General along with the Justice Department could press legal charges of criminal conduct against any of them. That makes this all just someone’s wishful thinking…lmao…I think many in America would cheer but the majority, I am sure, would reject such an order.

All he’s doing is burying himself deeper in the shit. He doesn’t learn from past mistakes. They thought they would get away with lying about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and now he thinks he;ll get away with the lies about the torture.

Too bad Obama or Hillary didn’t run in 2004. Kerry was way too wishy washy to win a Presidency.

I agree Geo…I was very disgusted with the dems choices back then. It was like they were stuck in the past and afraid of Bill’s sexual issues at the time. They could have nominated someone much more electable.

I really wish he would go away! I don’t understand where he’s going with this!

    • italco said

I am not sure if he is trying to set it up so in the event we get attacked he can point and say “see, I told you so” or if he is just being stubborn and trying to protect his image. You never know with him, His credibilty is completely shot.

  15. We hear more from him now than during his tenure, unfortunately. But, it’s only to defend all those hidden secrets he never thought would be made public!

    • italco said

I didn’t even realize that…you are right…he is more vocal now. They are saying he is more vocal because he no longer has to succume to the will of President Bush…I doubt this because once a VP, always a VP..same thing with the title of President.

Standing ovation from me on this post. his haliburton scam ruined me on him. nothing else is credible after that. i used to admire the man….and i hate when i get fooled by a snake.

thanks for the good you did….
    screw you for being corrupt….

    enjoy your retirement…PLEASE!

    • italco said

TY Bill…I appreciate your compliment and feel the same as you. I once held him in the same light as I do Colin Powell. This might be why I am so upset with him…he is a complete let down.

  17. italco said

I would stop writing about him if he would just be quiet. I am not trying to pick on him or the past administration. Personally, I would love it if we could all put the past behind us and move forward.
